un qui aurait pu se la couler douce sur pr\u00e8s de 22 kms<\/strong><\/span>, mais il n\u2019en est rien ! Ses fluctuations temporelles, entre \u00e9tiage et crues capricieuses ont laiss\u00e9 de sacr\u00e9es traces dans son histoire !<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mais ce temp\u00e9rament frondeur n\u2019a pas d\u00e9courag\u00e9 les nombreuses <strong>gabares<\/strong> dont la plupart\u00a0 <strong>\u00e9taient d\u2019ailleurs construites \u00e0 Villemur, alors important centre de constructions navales.<\/strong>\u00a0 Il fallait les voir passer ces fi\u00e8res embarcations dont <strong>le fond plat avait \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9 pour franchir les passes peu profondes et mieux glisser sur les pass\u00e9lis<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ah oui, elles avaient fi\u00e8re allure, acheminant les richesses du terroir jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019oc\u00e9an et rapportant sel, poisson s\u00e9ch\u00e9 et \u00e9pices dans ses flancs.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une modernit\u00e9 en chassant une autre,<strong> c\u2019est l\u2019av\u00e8nement du chemin de fer<\/strong> qui donnera un bon coup de frein \u00e0 l\u2019activit\u00e9 et <strong>le coup de gr\u00e2ce sera port\u00e9 en 1926 avec la fin de la navigabilit\u00e9 sur le Tarn<\/strong>. Une page s\u2019est tourn\u00e9e mais le livre n\u2019est pas termin\u00e9.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Il trotte dans nos t\u00eates de doux r\u00eaves. Il flotte dans l\u2019air des projets\u2026s\u2019ouvrir \u00e0 nouveau \u00e0 la navigation ? Eh bien oui, c\u2019est en cours !<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mais en attendant, approchez, oui approchez-vous! En pr\u00eatant l\u2019oreille, vous pourriez entendre \u00e0 nouveau les chants des lavandi\u00e8res et les \u00e9clats de voix des mariniers se rendant sur ses
