Descriptif

Housed in the Defence Tower of Villemur-sur-Tarn, an iconic landmark of the town, the exhibition will allow visitors to discover the trades that shaped local life between 1800 and 1950. Reconstructed scenes featuring mannequins, tools and period objects will illustrate the daily lives of the craftsmen, traders and workers of yesteryear.
Educational panels will complement the visit by explaining the skills and working conditions of these trades, which have now disappeared or been transformed. Admission will be free throughout the opening period.
For those who haven’t visited yet, you can explore the millstone room on Saturdays and Sundays in August and September, or on 12, 13 and 14 July (from 3 pm to 6 pm).
A special ‘Crafts and Trade: Past and Present’ day will take place on Sunday 23 August 2026, from 10 am to 6 pm, on Mandela Square, featuring activities and demonstrations designed to bring local heritage to life.

The millstone room is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 12 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm.
